Climbing in Kyparrisi - Vlychada Beach - Greece

Updated: Feb 21

Steep limestone cliffs, Cintas and tufas. Red and grey rock with newly bolted sectors and sea views. Kyparrisi is the upcoming world-class climbing spot. There is climbing for those who climb hard routes, there are easy sectors and even child-friendly zones. The scenery is picturesque and the small fishing village of Kiparrisi in Laconia is still very traditional and beautiful.

The beach of Vlychada a small climbing spot with limestone and tufa climbing. This spot is breathtaking, on the beach, climbing and a place to park your van. The climbing season is from October to April.

Our favourite sectors:

  • Babala - Hard routes overhang and tufas.

  • Playground - Easy routes

  • Water mill - Hard over hang routes with a great view.

  • Vlychada beach - Tufa, sharp limestone, some harder routes and all on the beach.

High season:

October to April.

Getting there:

From Athens to Kyparissi is about 4 hours drive. Eiter direct or through Leonidio.

A car or van makes getting to crags easier.
