Climbing in Dionysos - Greece

The old marble quarry of Kato Platia is located in the shady pine forest in Dionysos, Greece. A small sport climbing crag in the north of Athens with grades ranging from 5b to 6c+. The climbing is unique as the rock features in the marble walls are short and technical. Have you ever climbed on marble? We recommend it.

Our favourite routes:
  • Pasteli (6b+)

  • Ligo Akoma (5c)

  • Psycho Killer (6c+)

  • No More Heroes (6c+)

Getting there:

Driving from Athens to Dionysos take the Eparxiaki Odos Ekalis Neas Makris. Turn right onto Strati Karra and follow the road around onto Prousis. If you are in a car park at the small dirt road entrance to your right. Through the trees, you will find a dirt track that leads up through the pine trees. When you find a road barrier you are almost there. Wall passed it and you enter the quarry. You should see bolts on the wall. There are also several spots around the main wall and if you explore there is more to climb.

Always remember in the summer no fires and do not leave litter.
